Announcing the new North Tiger 50k route!

SMRG’s Ben Luedke has created a new 50k on Tiger Mountain in the Issy Alps.  Get out there and give it a try.  It’s a great tour of this classic training ground for Seattle-area ultra runners.  Directions can be found by going here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1HYUSmbtxGU3RT0hv0lK0GvD7Sc8WBzBM2vVM4fLeVgc/edit?usp=sharing

Arthur Martineau and Jon Lumb won this first ISAX event.  The Seattle Mountain Running Group (SMRG) hosted the inaugural Issaquah Snoqualmie Alps Cross (ISAX for short, pronounced ‘ice axe’) Mountain Running Challenge.  This event was open to all members of SMRG, and all participants must be Washington residents.

Included challenges were a point to point traverse of Tiger, Squak and Cougar mountains; an elevation challenge to be performed in either 6 or 12 hours; a total distance challenge to be performed in either 6 or 12 hours; and a team relay, which was to be completed in 6 hours.

We are a group of long-distance runners who get together for group runs in the mountains near Seattle. Tiger, Squak, Cougar and Si are local favorites. We hope this site will become a resource for those preparing for and running in trail races and fun runs,  volunteering at races and trail maintenance events, enjoying camaraderie, running the mountain trails with a friendly vibe.
This group is meant to be a source of encouragement, support and community among individual runners. Any members posting negative or critical feedback (the non-constructive variety) will be removed.  The group is not intended to be a platform for advertising (promos, discounts, product announcements, etc.) for any business.  Any individual and/or business repeatedly using the site for promotional purposes will also be removed.
See ya out there!
